Portuguese-born, London-based artist Raquel Martins has revealed her new single, ‘DEAD END’. The track fits into her broader body of work, with experimentalism colliding with a gift for laid-back grooves and delicate vocal performance. Her own virtuosic guitar work sits at the core of the beat, while an erratic, jazzy drum kit responds to its simplicity with manic snare fills that interrupt her lightly distorted voice. She describes the track as being “about the realisation that the issue isn’t just where I live or what I do - it’s my own thinking. It’s about realising you can’t keep running from your problems, because eventually you run into yourself.” ‘DEAD END’ is taken from Martin’s debut album, LONDON, WHEN ARE U GONNA FEEL LIKE HOME?, which is due for release on September 12th, 2025, via Bridge The Gap. -Dan Peeke
